OUR MISSION STATEMENT.

Peek Into A New Horizon Nex Gen is dedicated to expanding Out-of-School Time programs, also known as OST, and enrichment opportunities with respect for every child's unique identity and individual needs. We recognize the importance and urgency for these programs. We also recognize the lack of accessibility to these programs especially for historically vulnerable and structurally marginalized communities, and we strive to bridge these gaps. We are committed to addressing educational and social inequalities within our community and society at large. We will do this by providing access to quality OST programs, a STREAM centered education, and enrichment opportunities, particularly for disproportionately affected and systemically disadvantaged children, youth, and young adults in Cabarrus and Mecklenburg County, as well as the surrounding area. This ongoing effort requires intentional action and thought, and we will hold ourselves accountable in fulfilling our mission to create a safe space and increased opportunity for all children.

The vision of Peek Into A New Horizon Nex Gen is to have an impact and empower our children, youth and young adults through STREAM educational development and enrichment opportunities, emphasizing Social Emotional Learning, or SEL, to enhance critical thinking skills. We focus on creating a safe and supportive environment, encouraging service to others and fostering positive relationships.

Our afterschool program not only supports academic learning, but also the overall well-being of each child and their family. We partner with volunteers, local schools, churches, businesses, and educational institutions to provide mentorship, tutoring, and enrichment activities. These programs help reduce risky behaviors by offering a safe, supportive, supervised environment for children, youth, and young adults. Our goal is to reduce disparities in education and related outcomes by providing educational and enrichment opportunities, ultimately narrowing the opportunity and achievement gaps. We provide arts, crafts, outings, and community service to enrich the lives of participants. Our commitment extends to improving graduation rates, reducing incarceration rates, and building up the next generation in Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, anD the surrounding area.

Meet THE FOUNDER

MR. Tony PEEK (BSW)

Tony Peek is a no-nonsense youth advocate and the founder and CEO of PEEK NEX GEN, an organization committed to empowering young people and driving positive change. A proud father, husband, and community leader, Tony is known for his unwavering dedication to guiding youth through life's toughest challenges. His approach is grounded in honesty, toughness, and unconditional support, teaching young people that success comes from hard work, resilience, and facing obstacles head-on.

Tony’s journey to mentorship was shaped by grit and determination. While serving time in the Department of Corrections, he completed his FAFSA and made a commitment to pursue higher education. Through relentless effort, he earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science (2013), an Associate of Arts from Stanly Community College (2015), and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2017). Tony is also a proud member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

For over a decade, Tony has worked with marginalized youth, drawing from his own life experiences to teach valuable lessons in accountability, empowerment, and resilience. His mentoring encourages young people to think critically, embrace challenges, and take ownership of their success. Known for his direct approach, Tony instills the belief that success is earned, not given, and champions education, hard work, and mentorship as essential tools for growth.

Tony’s “no apologies” mindset holds himself and those around him to the highest standards. He knows that real growth comes when people push past excuses and take full responsibility for their actions.

As an inspirational speaker, Tony motivates audiences nationwide with powerful messages about overcoming adversity, personal growth, and building confidence. His words inspire others to be fearless, relentless, and unapologetic in their pursuit of greatness. Through mentorship, education, and empowerment, Tony is changing lives and helping young people realize their true potential.
